The main public perception of the DSVA is that of an organisation responsible for the administration of driver tests, both practical and theory based. However, this government-backed body is also responsible for numerous other aspects of road safety and upkeep. Along with the many other services provided by the government, the DVSA was subject to serious reform. The DSVA now works as an exclusive arm of the Department for Transport and have incorporated the workings of the Driving Standards Agency and the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency, creating a more well-rounded body. A large number of motorists and prospective motorists reach out to the DVSA every day with enquiries about general road safety, testing and licencing amongst other things. For your convenience, we have listed common questions asked of he DVSA on a daily basis. However, if you want to reach them directly do not hesitate to call the customer service team at DVSA on the DVSA Contact Number – 0843 504 0226.

Can I book driving and theory tests privately on the DVSA Contact Number?

Driving tests are commonly booked through your driving instructor – normally as part of a package when you book your driving lessons. However, there are many learner drivers, who take a different route when it comes to learning how to drive. Some customers do not want the expense of going through the entire learning process with an expensive instructor and take lessons from family members in safe zones. In this case, you have the right to book your test privately and can do so by calling the customer service team on the number listed here. For those who are new to the learning process, you can also book your Theory test through this number too. The standard costs of the test currently stand at £31 for the Theory test and £62 for the Practical test – although the prices may alter after 4.30pm and on Bank Holiday. There is a change to pricing planned which will hopefully reduce the theory test to £25, Call the DVSA Contact Number on – 0843 504 0226 for more.
